Day 1: Arrival

Arrival in the bustling hub of San Jose where your private chauffeur will be waiting to transport you to a deluxe hotel in the heart of the city, right beside the iconic National Theatre. Overnight Stay at Gran Hotel Costa Rica Meals: Bed & Breakfast.

Day 2: San Jose

After a hearty breakfast, you’ll enjoy the day at leisure with the option for a guided tour exploring San Jose’s rich cultural tapestry. Enjoy the capital’s Art and Design museums, rich historical architecture and variety of mouth-watering local dishes. Overnight Stay at Gran Hotel Costa Rica Meals: Bed & Breakfast.

Day 3: Journey to Tortuguero Oasis

Today you’ll be picked up for your transfer to Tortuguero, stopping for a picturesque brunch at Rio Danta restaurant on route. You’ll then board Mawamba’s boat for a one hour ride to your jungle oasis retreat in Tortuguero, an area with some of the greatest biological diversity in the country. Your peaceful resort is cloaked in vibrant flora, while wild sloths, porcupines, iguanas and exotic birdsong bloom all around you. Here you’ll take a tour of the gardens with a local naturalist guide learning all about the fascinating natural curiosities that surrounds you. Day 4: Local Village and Canal Tour Adventure 

After breakfast, you’ll head to Tortuguero village for a tour with your guide. Here you can stroll the colourful streets, grab a refreshing drink and browse the array of local crafts nestled along the canal. You’ll then enjoy a private cacao & chocolate tour experience, learning all about the harvesting and creation of the “food of the gods” and getting a ‘hands on’ experience roasting, grinding and tasting the scrumptious chocolate. The cocoa fruits and beans are locally and organically prepared and this delicious experience serves to help support local farmers. After lunch, you’ll proceed for an afternoon canal tour in Tortuguero National Park. Here you’ll cruise along the canals, dipping under sun-kissed jungle thickets in search of all sorts of wildlife. Keep an eye out for howler monkeys, sloths, toucans and the stunning basilisk lizard as you meander the jungle waterways. Day 5: Tortuguero- La Fortuna

Today you'll have the option for an early morning kayaking adventure in Tortuguero. Then, you'll begin a picturesque journey by boat and road to Fortuna, stopping in Guapiles for a delicious traditional lunch. You’ll arrive in La Fortuna in the afternoon, a luscious area where the beautiful Arenal volcano rises out of the San Carlos Plains. Naturally heated thermal springs rumble in its depths so prepare to be surrounded by breathtaking nature with plenty of opportunities to soak and replenish in the natural mineral waters. You’ll check into your hotel oasis and spend the evening at leisure with the verdant forests and spectacular volcano looming in the near distance. Day 6: Hanging Bridges, Zipline and Thermal Spa

After a delicious breakfast, you’ll head for an aerial tram ride and ziplining sky adventure through Arenal park. As you cruise down the highest zip line course in Costa Rica, you’ll get a chance to view the majestic Arenal volcano and surrounding luscious forests from a bird’s eye view. You’ll then be taken on a guided hiking tour of the iconic Mistico hanging bridges, meandering through the verdant canopies which bustle with eclectic wildlife such as coatimundis, toucans, monkeys and sloths. Day 7: Tubing Adventure & Hideaway Relaxation

Today your private chauffeur will transport you to your deluxe hideaway hotel in Rio Celeste. Nestled amidst a secluded tropical rainforest, you can expect to see all sorts of wildlife roaming around you amidst the canopies and rushing rivers. On route, you’ll enjoy a tubing adventure along the rivers of Rio Celeste. Get ready to glide along azure waters as morpho butterflies, dragonflies and birds flit past your ears while monkeys swing along the branches overhead. This tubing excursion is perfect mix of relaxation and adrenaline, as you traverse mild rapids and cruise gently along the banks of the sun kissed rainforest, with the chance to dip in for a swim in the refreshing waters. Day 8: Rio Celeste & Tapir Valley Hike

After a leisurely breakfast feast, you’ll have the option to explore the beautiful landscapes of Rio Celeste, heading down to the rivers and waterfalls or simply relaxing into the facilities of your hideaway retreat. Later on, you’ll enjoy a twilight hike through the luscious Tapir Valley Reserve with a local naturalist guide. Headtorches on, you’ll explore the jungles by night, spotting all sorts of tree frogs, reptiles and nocturnal creatures awakening beneath the stars. This is also one of the best spots to see tapirs so keep your eyes peeled for these fascinating mammals as you traverse the moonlit thickets. Day 9: Upala- Monteverde

Today you’ll be transferred to the mystical Monteverde Cloud Forests, an area famous for its eclectic hummingbird population. Monteverde is a world class example of conservation by a local community and its protected areas now cover nearly 30,000 hectares of private reserves. Here you’ll have the opportunity to explore some picturesque hiking trails, bat and frog exhibits and delve into the culture and flavours of the town of Santa Elena. You’ll enjoy the evening at leisure in your luxury lodge shrouded in tropic mists, with the option to explore a hike down to the roaring river nearby. Day 10: Cloud Forests & Horse-Riding Adventure

After a decadent breakfast, you’ll proceed for a guided tour of the Monteverde Biological Reserve with an expert local guide. Day 11: Punta Islita & Night Turtle Tour

Today your chauffeur will transfer you to the coastal nature haven of Punta Islita. You’ll check into your deluxe retreat, surrounded by spectacular scenery and remote beaches.
