Day 1: Arrival
After catching your connecting flight to Medellín, you’ll be transferred to a deluxe hotel in the vibrant heart of the city to unwind in comfort and spend the evening at leisure. Medellín is known as the city of eternal spring because of its pleasant warm weather all year round. Mountains surround the town, and you’ll notice its luscious trees, beautiful flowers and vibrant architecture as you stroll. Overnight Stay at: Hotel Quinta Ladera
Day 2: Discover Medellín & Arví Park
After breakfast, you’ll explore the bustling, rich history of Medellín. After strolling to the famous Botero Plaza and the downtown historic centre, you’ll take the Metro Cable up to Santo Domingo to enjoy some spectacular views. You’ll also discover one of the most transformative communities in Colombia - The Comuna 13, where you’ll see the positive changes and artistic revival that has occurred in the area since its darker days. You’ll finish your day at the Arví Park to connect with nature and enjoy unique historical landscapes. You’ll immerse in a humid tropical mountain forest here, and at the top, you’ll explore a mini farmers market, where you can enjoy some local and agricultural products. The Park is home to over 60 species of birds, 19 mammal species and 40 species of amphibians and reptiles so keep your eyes peeled as you explore! Day 3: Waterfall Hike | Orchid Farm
Today you’ll enjoy a stunning nature hike, crossing verdant hills and rivers to reach La Miel waterfall. Here you’ll get to know Andean flora and fauna blooming in this ecological reserve and can even enjoy a refreshing swim in the waterfall. You will then visit a beautiful hydrangea and orchids farm, where you’ll learn about the planting, harvesting, and production processes that enable these flowers to reach destinations all over the world. The workers have a special bond with the flowers, reflecting their love for nature and their extensive experience in flower cultivation. Day 4: Paragliding | Off to Cannúa
Today you'll head to the charming mountain town of San Felix to enjoy an epic paragliding experience. With a pilot guiding you safely, you’ll take off from the hilltop and experience the weightlessness of a bird as you soar across the landscapes and take in Medellín from above. You will then be transferred to the breathtaking Cannúa Lodge to enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Nestled in the heart of the Antioquian mountain, you’ll soak in exquisite panoramic views in this unique property that has sustainability woven into its bones. Day 5: Permaculture & Chocolate
A fascinating permaculture walk awaits you today, where a local guide will teach you about the area’s history and rich ecosystem. At the end of the trail, you’ll discover two prehistoric species of protected plants and take in the awe-inspiring views of the San Nicolas valley. Later on, you’ll indulge in a traditional chocolate tasting experience. Tucking into a curated selection of Colombian cacao treats, you’ll learn about the intricate process behind its creation, a testament to the innovation and tradition that defines Colombian chocolate. Day 6: Waterfall Picnic & Guatapé
Today you’ll embark on an extraordinary adventure along a pre-Hispanic ‘Royal Trail’ (a historic trade route used by indigenous communities). You’ll traverse mountains, luscious landscapes glittered with tropical birds and farms bursting with vibrant flowers and fruits. Midway, you’ll tuck into a traditional Colombian fiambre—a picnic-style meal wrapped and cooked inside a giant leaf and as you reach a stunning waterfall, you can dip in and cool off in the refreshing currents. After exploring El Peñol town and enjoying an exhilarating climb up El Peñol Rock, you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views of shimmering turquoise lakes and the rolling Andean landscape. Finally, you’ll reach Guatapé, a lively, iconic town celebrated for its vibrant zócalos (intricately painted bas-reliefs depicting stories from the community’s heritage). Day 7: Hello Minca: Coffee Farm & Pozo Azul
After a delicious final breakfast at Cannúa Lodge, you’ll catch a flight to Santa Marta and be privately transferred to your next beautiful hotel, a nature cradled treehouse. After you’ve settled in, an afternoon adventure in Minca awaits. Tucked in the Sierra Nevada mountains, you’ll explore this remote paradise and visit a coffee farm to taste and learn about the plant in its natural environment. You’ll then take a stunning walk (45 mins) to Pozo Azul, a natural swimming hole where you can take a refreshing dip before heading back to the hotel to unwind. Day 8: Tayrona Park and Beaches
After breakfast, you’ll explore Tayrona National Park today, a jewel of Colombian nature. A world-renowned ecological sanctuary full of archaeological remains, the park bustles with mangrove swamps, corals, algae prairies, thorny scrubland, and magical cloud forests. Keep an eye out for wildlife galore here as over 1,000 marine species (including dolphins and sea turtles), 31 reptile species, 300 bird species (including condors and white eagles) and 100 species of mammals (including howler monkeys, pumas, deer, bats) call this oasis home. Reaching Cabo San Juan, you can then bask under the sun and take a replenishing swim in the sea. Day 9: Bunkuany Ruins & Wildlife
After a hearty breakfast, today you’ll explore Bunkuany, the Land of Ancestral Knowledge, a nature cradled oasis in the mountain called the ‘Heart of the World’. This trek offers chances to see diverse local wildlife in the Sierra Nevada jungle so keep your eyes peeled! You’ll explore the sacred Donama stones, pass through the La Lisa hamlet and cross the Piedras and La Lisa rivers before the trail begins. The hike will ascend through a coffee farm, leading to a stunning panoramic viewpoint of Santa Marta and Tayrona National Park. We’ll then descend through forests to the Bunkuany terraces, take a lunch break by the stream and explore the archaeological importance of the area to local communities. Day 10: Katanzama | Tubing
Today, you’ll visit the Kantanzama indigenous community and learn about their day-to-day life in the village. You’ll explore Kantanzama cuisine and customs before enjoying a scenic picnic, where you can learn to wave traditional backpacks. Following a scenic walk to the Don Diego River, you'll enjoy a relaxing float along the river. As you drift along, enjoy the calls of howler monkeys from the luscious rainforest surrounding you and marvel at tropical birds and butterflies as they flit around the currents. Day 11: Flamingo Sanctuary
After a delicious breakfast, you’ll head to Los Flamencos Flora and Fauna Sanctuary. Amidst thriving lagoons, mangroves and dry forests, this reserve welcomes a diverse array of shorebirds. As you explore the reserve, keep an eye out for Caribbean flamingos, pelicans, white egrets, Martin Fisherman and all sorts of eclectic birdlife. Day 12: Departure
After a final breakfast feast, you’ll be safely and smoothly transferred from Santa Marta to Simon Bolivar Airport to catch your return flight.
